History

The Cedar Rapids Horsemen's club was organized in the early 1940's by Verne Upmier and his friends. Verne thought that the CRHC should be open to anyone who would like to join and not limited to the people associated with his stable.

The CRHC charted in 1944. Verne Upmier has been a member of the Board of Directors since the club was organized. Other charter members today are Mary Barta and Shirley Daveis Weiditz. The club today has activities being planned for the coming year.

We sponsor horse shows, trail rides, tack sales and the annual Cerebral Palsy Ride for the special needs participants. Holiday Horse show season/ High Point Awards banquet.

The CRHC board of Directors today include Lance Logan- past president, Gary Turner, Jim Heck, Jerry Larson, and Marilyn Butler. Please join us and enjoy being with other horse-loving people!
